Waterproofing

ATC Contractors Inc. and its trained professionals have in-depth knowledge and experience in the functionality, installation, and performance of waterproofing, caulking, and moisture protection systems for commercial, residential, and remediation projects. ATC Contractors Inc. is committed to providing a complete waterproofing system for your project.

Our crews have been trained to install the following types of systems provided by quality manufacturers: BASF, Carlisle, Dow Corning, Tremco, WR Grace, and Prosocco.

Sheet Applied Waterproofing Membrane
A sheet-applied waterproofing system is designed to provide waterproofing protection for below-grade foundation walls, slab, plaza decks, and tunnels. The system consists of the self-adhering membrane, primer for surface preparation, a liquid membrane for detailing, mastic to seal termination points, and drainage composites to protect the waterproofing system and provide water management.

Deck Coating Systems
Deck coating systems protect the structure by waterproofing the concrete substrate while providing an attractive wearing surface. Deck coating systems meet the requirements of projects from condominium balconies to high traffic vehicular decks. The system consists of a durable, skid-resistant wearing surface and a waterproofing layer, which protects the above-grade decks from the damaging effects of water and chloride ion penetration, thereby preventing the water from penetrating the spaces below.

Water Repellents
Water repellent is an exact, filmless, penetrating product for virtually all above grade, vertical concrete, stucco, block, limestone and brick masonry. The treatment does not alter the color or texture of the surface or significantly affect the substrate's vapor transmission qualities. The solution penetrates the substrate and chemically reacts to create a powerful barrier against water penetration. This barrier is resistant to  weather deterioration; however, it is necessary to reapply on a maintenance schedule every five to ten years.

Antigraffiti is a straightforward treatment for concrete, brick, concrete masonry, and natural stone. The therapy protects surfaces to allow easy removal of a wide variety of graffiti, including spray paint, permanent marker, ink, bituminous paints, asphalt sealers, and other solvent or waterborne paints. Standard nonhazardous cleaners and low-pressure water blasting are sufficient removal methods for most graffiti.

Cementitious/Crystaline Waterproofing
Cementitious waterproofing is a unique chemical treatment for the waterproofing and protection of concrete. Structures can be waterproofed from the interior side of the wall by the process of osmosis; the crystalline formation migrates throughout the pores and capillary tracts of concrete even against intense hydrostatic pressure. The treatment is highly resistant to most aggressive substances. By preventing the intrusion of chemicals, saltwater, sewage, and other harmful materials, cementitious waterproofing protects concrete and reinforcing steel from deterioration and oxidation, making it a good selection for elevator pits, sewage, and water treatment tanks.

Masonry Restoration

Brick and Stone Repair
It provides both aesthetic and function to the exterior facade of a structure by updating the mortar joints or replacing missing, cracked, or delaminated parts of the beginning.

  • Brick Replacement
  • Tuckpointing
  • Stucco Repairs
  • Dutchman's Repair
  • Limestone Patching

Thru-Wall Flashing Repairs
The purpose of thru-wall flashing is to export all moisture or water intrusion that enters the exterior wall system. Many water intrusion issues are exposed by removing the outer facade, getting to the thru-wall flashing, and making proper repairs.

  • Stucco
  • Brick

Expansion/Control Joint Systems Repair
Due to the dynamic movement or usage that many structures incur, the stress over time causes failures that can create water intrusion issues, substrate deterioration, or safety hazards. Since an expansion joint system's average lifespan is between 5-10 years at best, routine maintenance and replacement is a cost-effective method to avoid significant repair costs.

  • Interior Walls/Ceilings
  • Parking Structure
  • Exterior Facade
  • Roofing

Coatings
It provides an architectural element to a structure and acts as protection against moisture and airborne pollutants such as carbon and salts. In most cases, the addition or maintenance of a coating system will provide you with a high protection level, considering most systems' average lifespans is between 5-10 years.

  • Elastomeric Coatings
  • Acrylic Coatings
  • Pedestrian Traffic Coatings
  • Decorative Pedestrian Coating
  • PMMA Traffic/Pedestrian Coatings
  • Vehicular Traffic Coatings

Structural Repairs
Provides your structure with the integrity required for it to perform without possible catastrophic failure. We can provide minor or major repairs as needed.

  • Carbon Fiber Reinforcement
  • Rebar Repairs
  • Concrete Mortar Repairs
  • Epoxy Mortar Repairs
  • Penetrating Corrosion Inhibitors
  • Tilt Wall Panel Patching

Chemical Grouts
It provides structural integrity and protection against water intrusion to cracks in substrates due to unforeseen conditions such as dynamic movement or substandard substrates.

  • Epoxy
  • Urethane

Cleaning and Sealing
Provides protection and helps reduce efflorescence, atmospheric staining, and mildew. Ideal for use on precast or stone structures by providing a substrate that's clean but maintains its natural texture

  • Clear Penetrating Sealers
  • Decorative Stains

Waterproofing
Provides long-lasting protection to a structure from water intrusion by installing protection at the point of entry or inside a system or a network. We offer repairs or removal and replacement services on all building types and for all materials listed below.

  • Sheet Membrane
  • Bentonite Waterproofing
  • Fluid-Applied
  • Capillary/Crystalline Systems
Caulking and Sealants

Our experienced crews install state-of-the-art silicone, urethane, preformed foam sealants, and preformed silicone extrusion systems that are weatherproof and aesthetically enhance your building. We can remove aged or failing caulk or sealants on existing structures at any height or configuration in addition to new construction projects.

Caulking and Sealants provide essential protection for structures against water-intrusion, air-infiltration, insect-intrusion. Glazing failures and slab control joint protection. Since all sealants have a lifespan, some more than others, we offer complete removal and replacement services and minor repairs on all building types and substrates for all sealant types listed below.

  • Silicone
  • Urethane
  • Polyurea
  • Epoxy

Air & Moisture Protection

Air & Vapor Barrier Systems
Air and vapor barrier materials come in many different forms, from self-adhering sheets to the fluid applied membrane to various forms of fabric wraps; products are also available with breathable and non-breathable performance characteristics. Due to Air and Vapor Barriers' building science, a total system approach must be used to match the correct mechanical system with the proper air and vapor barriers system given the geographic climate and the building's intended use.
